How do time and materials contracts work?
Below is an outline of our preferred methodology to carry out service contract with our customers.

- Creation of project task breakdown
- Estimate project completion timeframe
- Creation of Contract which outlines projected cost
Execution Steps
- Track actual time
- Communicate with client as agreed
- Send invoices at agreed intervals
Inception Steps
- Project scope definition: Establish what the client wants, key dates or goals, and understand expectations.
- Creation of project task breakdown: Use a Work Breakdown Structure to make the project more manageable.
- Estimate project completion timeframe: Create time estimates for each task.
- Creation of Contract Outlining projected cost: Work out other costs for the project. Such as licensing fees, etc., and add that to the cost estimate.
Execution Steps
- Track actual time: Track time of assigned Eighty7 Consulting staff working on the project.
- Communicate with client as agreed: Punctually report progress to client and how the project is going.
- Send invoices at agreed intervals: On a weekly, by-weekly or monthly basis (in accordance to the signed agreements), submit invoice for the hours worked and any indirect costs to the client.
